Our Practice

Welcome to Cape Cod Endodontics

"Experienced, compassionate, professional..."

We at Cape Cod Endodontics strive to provide the highest quality endodontic care in a caring, comfortable environment. We want our patients to be informed and to feel confident about our practice at every clinical and administrative level. Our endodontists also serve our referring dentists as a resource and, through prompt and expert care of their patients, as a valued part of their dental team.

Cape Cod Endodontics was founded in 1985 by Dr. Anthony Borgia on the philosophy that we must serve all the needs of each patient — we must answer their questions, alleviate their anxieties, and provide excellent clinical care. As the region has grown, our practice has grown as well, in large part due to our dedication to these goals. We see emergencies the same day, yet also take the time necessary with each patient to provide dentistry of the highest standard.

For Our Patients

Managing Patient Anxiety

Though endodontic treatment has evolved into care that saves teeth with high predictability and little or no discomfort, some patients feel anxious about visiting our office. It is our goal and our duty to keep you informed and comfortable — here's how we manage that anxiety.

Patience & Empathy

We treat anxious patients with understanding and compassion, answering every question and patiently managing apprehension without rushing into treatment.

You Will Be Numb

We provide complete local anesthesia. Local anesthetics have improved greatly over the years, and patients should expect to be comfortable during treatment.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

For more apprehensive patients, nitrous oxide inhaled through a nasal mask relaxes patients so they can have treatment in comfort and without anxiety.

Conscious Sedation

For moderate-to-high anxiety, oral conscious sedation provides a higher level of anxiety relief so treatment can be completed while totally relaxed.

Patient Forms & Resources

Please type directly on the forms below, print, and bring them to your appointment.

Referring Doctors

Referral Guidelines

Cape Cod Endodontics would like to ensure that each patient is scheduled in a manner that is most efficient for both the patient and the referring doctor. Each patient should have a referral form, which should be mailed, emailed, or given to the patient to present to our office when they are appointed — an important form of communication that is critical from a medical/legal perspective as well.

If you have a radiograph to accompany the referral form, please send it to our office or give it to the patient.

When a Consultation Helps

  • The patient may desire one — a consultation prior to treatment can allay apprehension about a new office.
  • Diagnostic uncertainty — recommended if there is a question about which tooth is involved.
  • Possible endodontic re-treatment — essential to evaluate restorability and discuss the procedure.
  • Possible surgical treatment — essential to plan for optimal treatment and educate the patient.
  • Patients with dental anxiety — a consultation helps determine the best way to manage anxiety in advance.

Single-Visit Treatment

Appropriate when the pulp is clearly vital, for a thermally sensitive cracked tooth, when a post space is required in an otherwise healthy tooth, or for carious exposure of a vital pulp.

Multiple-Visit Treatment

Most prudent for teeth with swelling or drainage, clearly infected teeth with a periapical radiolucency, or patients who cannot tolerate long visits.
